With a SoftChalk LessonBuilder™ custom style, it's easy to achieve a professionally-styled, custom look for your course content. Custom Styles can incorporate your institution's logo, color scheme and other branding.

How do Custom Styles work?
It's as easy as 1-2-3!
- First, SoftChalk's graphic designer works with you to design a custom style that suits your needs. You provide color selections, logos, and other branding elements that you wish to incorporate into your custom style. We design a custom style to your specifications.
- Next, SoftChalk's developers complete the creation and packaging of your custom style into a component that can be installed into LessonBuilder. The component is delivered to you as a "zip" file that can be easily installed in LessonBuilder by any content creator.
- Once installed in LessonBuilder, your custom style is available for selection just like any of the other standard styles available in LessonBuilder.
Frequently Asked Questions
I know how to create CSS, can I create a custom style on my own?
There is more to creating a custom style than generating or modifying the CSS (cascading style sheet). Although part of the process is generation of CSS, there are also many graphics that must be customized for each custom style. In addition, it may be necessary to modify html code and LessonBuilder source code to ensure that a custom style works properly with all of the interactive components available in LessonBuilder. For these reasons, currently, development of custom styles by clients is not supported.Is there an additional fee for creating custom styles?

Yes! Once your custom style is created, we provide it to you as a zip file. This allows you complete control over the distribution and use of your custom style. The fee for custom styles is based on the cost for development of the style component - there is no additional per user usage fee charged. You can provide the custom style to as many lesson-creators as you like -- your entire faculty, or to a specific department or project team.How long does it take to get a custom style created?
